If you have a PGM, this is a game to get (along with DoDonPachi 2: Bee Storm). The Sub Weapons are decent (especially the shotgun, which reaches across the whole sreen!), and the animation is wonderful! The music functions well, but isn't especially great, and the SFX are nice and bassy! THe graphics, are crisp and beautiful, and the color scemes are wonderful! The levels are broken up into sun-sections, and some are LONG! The level of difficulty is high, but not impossible. If you max out your pet, and gain enough hearts for another level, your pet will berserk for a limited time, doing heavy damage. Your pet will charge faster, do more damage, and change size as the leves stack. Knifing or pet-attacking gains you hearts, which power up your pet up to 9 levels. Your skull meter will fill-up, and power up your gun 2 levels. You can power up your gun by shooting baddies and collecting skulls. It can take several hits (there is a meter for its stamina). You also have a shield button, in which your pet turns into a shield and surrounds you. Holding the shot button charges the pet, then releasing will make the pet attack. Each character has a unique "pet" that acts differntly fom one another. Each can fire, jump, and float down by holding the jump button.
